Police are hoping to solve the mystery of man’s cash disappearing after he was injured.

The victim has so little memory of what happened that officers aren’t
even sure if a crime was committed.

The baffling case began when the 53-year-old had gone to the seafront
between Dymchurch and New Romney.

He parked his vehicle near the Martello Tower just outside Dymchurch
and took his fishing gear to the beach.

He then saw an unidentified person some 100 yards away and returned to
his vehicle but remembers nothing else.

He later managed to return home in his vehicle but discovered a deep cut to the back of his head and a quantity of cash from his wallet missing.

He was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident which happened between 11.40am and 2.15pm on Wednesday, December 19.

Weeks later police are still struggling to fill the gaps in the sequence of events.

There is also no clue as to who the person the victim had seen was and
what, if any, their involvement was.

There is no confirmatiion yet as to whether it was a man or woman.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Police officers are looking to establish if a crime has taken place and would like witnesses to come forward.”

Anyone with information abotu the incident should contact Det Con Amanda Woodward at Kent Police by calling 101.
