Police warn drivers to look out for fallen trees and branches obstructing roads in and around Ashford
Ashford has woken up to uprooted trees and telephone and power cables down after a night of gale-force winds and torrential rain battered the town and surrounding areas.
A fallen tree is partially blocking Loudon Way on the town's Godinton Park estate.
Several flood warnings also remain in force in Kent - and there is still a severe weather warning in place for rain this morning.
Kent Police said they received more than twice the normal number of calls overnight as 80mph winds hit the county.
Southeastern train services are badly disrupted to allow Network Rail to clear the lines of debris and fallen trees.
Kent Police warned motorists to beware of fallen trees obstructing many of the county's roads - including motorways, A roads and minor roads this morning as the clear-up of obstructive debris gets under way.
