Folkestone Invicta boss Neil Cugley ready for life after top-scorer Stuart King

Neil Cugley enjoys a challenge and replacing prolific striker Stuart King will be exactly that.

The Folkestone Invicta boss saw the former Herne Bay striker join Ryman League, Division 1 South rivals Maidstone United for an undisclosed fee late last week and lay on both goals in a 2-0 debut win against his home town side.

Cugley believes King, who netted 44 goals in 48 games, can go on and play even higher and plans to give ex-strike partner Richard Atkins and teenage prospect Johan Ter Horst the chance to try and fill the void he leaves.

Atkins netted his fifth goal in nine games in the 1-1 draw against Burgess Hill and youth team top scorer Ter Horst is set to partner him against improving visitors Tooting and Mitcham on Saturday.

He said: "Richard has done well and I would have been more disappointed if he was the one to leave. He leads the line well and I want him to continue to improve his all-round game.

"We have looked at Johan in training and he has done well. He has got a good touch and would have played last week but was unavailable. He will be involved on Saturday ."

Invicta have re-arranged two games. They travel to Leatherhead on Tuesday, December 18, with the trip to Maidstone on Tuesday, January 22.
