Hythe manager Scott Porter says unbeaten run has helped boost confidence

Hythe Town boss Scott Porter hailed the Kent
Senior Cup quarter-final extra-time win at Blue Square Bet Premier
side Ebbsfleet on Tuesday night as a “great scalp” for the
club.
Three goals in extra-time by Kieran Byrne,
Ronnie Dolan and Craig Thompson completed a 4-1 win and set up a
home tie against Dover in March after Nick Reeves’ opener was
cancelled out by a 90th-minute penalty from on-loan Crystal Palace
striker Nathaniel Pinney.
Porter said: “It was a great night and a great
scalp and I was proud of all the boys. Their desire and
commitment were fantastic.
“We are now unbeaten in seven games in all
competitions, chasing a place in the play-offs and the
semi-final against Dover keeps our season alive”
Porter recalled Jimmy Dryden from his spell
with Kent Invicta League Ashford United this week and he returned
against Ebbsfleet.
Hythe travel to Walton & Hersham on
Saturday and Porter said: “Our confidence has returned on the back
of the unbeaten run and we are in the right place at the
moment.
“We want to keep going, stay in the pack and
hope the teams above us drop points.”
Richard Sinden joined Dryden at Ashford last
week, and Porter is monitoring his situation. The clubs meet in a
friendly at Homelands on Tuesday.
