Folkestone Invicta boss Neil Cugley looking for swift win double over Three Bridges and Burgess Hill

by Andrew Gidley
Neil Cugley says he is
disappointed to miss out on a reunion with old pal Kenny Hill next
month after Folkestone Invicta’s Ryman League Division 1 South trip
to Kent rivals and joint-leaders Maidstone United has been called
off due to the County Town club’s FA Trophy success.
Kent-born former defender Hill, played
for Gillingham and Maidstone (twice), before moving to Folkestone
in July 1983 and was due to sponsor the match between two of his
old clubs.
Cugley (pictured) said: "We have
stayed in touch since and I was looking forward to seeing him but
the postponement means the game will probably be played in midweek
now."
Invicta had a day off last week, with
their league match at Leatherhead called off early on Saturday
morning, with standing water on the Fetcham Grove pitch the
previous day.
Cugley is optimistic about the home
game against Burgess Hill on Saturday going ahead – the first of
two successive matches at Cheriton Road as Invicta look to build on
their 3-1 victory against fellow Sussex side Three Bridges last
time out.
