Hythe boss Scott Porter looking for new faces as poor run continues

by Steve Tervet
Hythe Town boss Scott Porter has lost
patience with his under-performing players and has vowed to ship
out those who have "outstayed their welcome" at Reachfields.
Without a single league point in 2013,
Hythe have dropped away from the play-off pack in Ryman League,
Division 1 South.
Porter criticised the fitness of
several players after Saturday’s 4-2 home defeat – their fifth in a
row – to Eastbourne Town and has spent this week searching for
replacements.
He said: "Some people aren’t good
enough, some have been here too long and things need to improve.
The only way to do that is to bring people in. Some people have
outstayed their welcome, they’ve got into a comfort zone.
"We do everything we can on a Tuesday
and Thursday, we tell the lads to look after themselves and not to
mug us off because it will show. It showed on Saturday and people
got found out big-time.
"It’s time to change. Since Monday
I’ve rung every Kent manager in the Ryman Premier and the
Conference South, I’ve done everything I can and I’ve even rung
Dartford to try to bring players in on loan."
To compound Porter’s woes, he will be
without wingers Jake Hobbs and Taser Hassan for this weekend’s
clash with Sittingbourne at Bourne Park.
Hobbs injured his hamstring against Eastbourne and will be out
for up to three weeks, while Hassan joined a Turkish club on
transfer deadline day for a four-figure fee.
