Newspaper boy loses unfair dismissal appeal
Comments |
A paper boy who sued a newsagent for
wrongful dismissal has lost his case at the Employment Appeal
Tribunal in London.
Teenager Myles Bebbington was trying to claim more
than £3,000 from Sturry News in Canterbury.
He had left his £20 a week round after a dispute arose over the
time he had been asked to report to work.
When his original claim was rejected at a tribunal in Ashford,
on the grounds that he was not legally an employee, his case was
taken to appeal by the Children's Legal Centre.
However, the original decision has been upheld.
