Fishermen taken to hospital

by Lauren Fruen

Two fishermen have been treated in hospital after suffering severe hypothermia.

Emergency services were called to Harty Ferry, Faversham, yesterday morning after the two men called for help onboard a boat anchored in The Swale, off the Kent coast.

Ambulance crews requested the help of the Whitstable lifeboat crew, who attended the scene just after 9am. They were also met by the Herne Bay coastguard.

The pair were taken to hospital to be treated for severe hypothermia.

It was the 53rd call of the year for Whitstable’s volunteer lifeboat crews.
