Arsonists hunted after blaze at garage in Stelling Minnis

Fire Engine

by Jamie Bullen

A blaze at a rural garage near Canterbury is believed to have been started by arsonists.

Kent Police are investigating the suspected attack in Stelling Minnis in the early hours of today.

No one was injured, but flames engulfed the outbuilding in Stone Street, near the Six Mile Garage, and several timber items inside.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service are treating the cause of the fire as suspicious.

Police believe firebugs might have used a vehicle shortly before the fire was reported.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to phone PC Stephen Hughes at Kent Police on 101, quoting crime reference ZY/34571/12, or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
