The funeral of Edward
Worton, above, who was killed earlier this month, will take place
in Barham next week.
Known as Eddie, the
31-year-old who grew up in Canterbury had just become a father of
twins when he died in a flat in Greater Manchester on February
3.
Two men have been charged
with the former Wincheap and Chaucer schoolboy’s murder.
Police in the North West have
now released Eddie’s body and his family, who all live in
Canterbury, have been able to arrange the funeral.
Eddie’s brother Danny, 32,
said: "It will be as much a celebration of Eddie’s life as his
funeral and all his friends are welcome to come.
"He would treat his close
friends more like brothers. He was just so loved by
everyone.
"Eddie was also just so happy
to have finally become a dad and he loved his family."
He worked in recruitment in
Manchester and lived in the Middleton district of the
city.
Six months ago Eddie and his
partner Michelle Bork welcomed their twins Poppy and Edward junior
into the world.
The funeral takes place at
Barham Crematorium at noon on Wednesday, February 29.
Flowers are to be delivered
to CW Lyons funeral directors beforehand and the wake follows at
the Chantry Club in Lower Chantry Lane, Canterbury.
Brothers Aaron Ward, 28, and
Vincent Ward, 27, have been charged with Eddie’s murder.
They appeared at Manchester
Crown Court earlier this month and have been remanded in custody
until April 24 when they will return for a plea and case management
hearing.
