Public meeting on Herne Bay developments tonight

The potential development of 1,400 homes in Herne Bay will be
discussed at a public meeting.
Proposed sites at Herne Bay Golf Course and Strode Farm will be
on the agenda at St Martin's Church, Herne, from 7.30pm
tonight.
The golf club plans include about 400 homes, commerical
developments, a supermarket and new sports pitches.
The suggestion for Strode Farm would create about 1,000 homes
but could be dependent on a new road from Eddington roundabout
behind homes on Lower Herne Road.
The meeting has been organised by the Herne and Broomfield
Parish Council for residents to voice any concerns or support.
The parish council's notice about the meeting asks: "Is the
loss of the green space, between Herne and Greenhill, to
development worth a relief road for Herne?"
A questionnaire has already been circulated to people from the
area, asking whether they would like either proposal to be included
in the Local Development Plan, which sets out planning
strategy for the area.
