Scorned pianist Iwona Sanigorska jailed for stabbing ex-lover in back in Herne Bay

A scorned woman who stabbed her ex-boyfriend in the back after
he left her and started a new relationship has been jailed for six
years.
Angry about Kacper Kin's new relationship, talented pianist and
former teacher Iwona Sanigorska went to his workshop in Herne Bay
because she wanted to "make him suffer as he had made her
suffer".
The terrified victim fled into the street and the 49-year-old
mother chased after him, brandishing the knife in front of
astonished pedestrians.
Alcoholic Sanigorska, of High Street, Herne Bay, admitted
wounding with intent, burglary, criminal damage and possessing an
offensive weapon.
She denied attempted murder and the charge was left on the court
file.
A judge imposed an extended sentence comprising six years'
imprisonment and a further two years on licence. Under new
provisions, she will not be eligible for parole until she has
served two thirds of the term.
Maidstone Crown Court heard how Sanigorska, from Poland, had
threatened Mr Kin's new girlfriend Samantha Borrie and broken into
her flat in Avenue Road, Herne Bay, and caused damage.
On August 20 last year, the victim was in his workshop at
Driftwood in Fenhoulet Way when Sanigorska burst through the door
holding the knife.

"She didn't say anything," said Helen McCormack, prosecuting.
"Fearing the worst, he ran out of the workshop turning his back. He
felt a sharp pain between his shoulder blades.
"He had been stabbed in the back. He was able to carry on
running. She went after him, still brandishing the knife, into the
street.
"She stopped to hit the passenger window of his car. She
continued to run after him, still with the knife in her hand."
The victim, 35, was taken to hospital and treated for a single
stab wound that needed five stitches. He escaped serious
injury.
Sanigorska had been staying at the home of retired Lester Cribb
and he later told police how she had left that day shouting she was
going to kill Mr Kin.
He said she returned with blood on her and changed her clothes.
He noticed one of his kitchen knives was missing.

Police forced their way in to find Sanigorska had taken
tablets and her speech was slurred and she appeared to be
drunk.
While being taken to the police station, she said: "I want my
life over. I love my husband, but he is with someone else. I want
to take tablets. I am worth nothing."
She made a stabbing motion with her fist.
Judge Philip Statman told Sanigorska: "You wanted to cause him
pain as he had broken your heart and humiliated you."
