Pair viciously assaulted in Herne Bay street attack

Two men suffered cuts to their hands and face in an unprovoked attack that is thought to have involved a broken bottle.

The victims, aged 50 and 36, were walking along High Street, Herne Bay, when they were approached by two men at about 8.45pm on Saturday.

The attackers crossed the road and tried hitting them both around the head.

The 50-year-old suffered cuts to his hands and his friend was cut in the face.

Police suspect a broken bottle was used by the offenders, who quickly left the scene.

Both are described as white men, one in his early 20s and around 5ft 8ins tall.

One of the men is thought to have been wearing a black jumper with white horizontal stripes.
