Justin Luchford contemplates ringing the changes for Whitstable Town's final game of season

by Alex Hoad
Whitstable boss Justin Luchford is considering making
changes for Town’s season finale after his players "didn’t turn up"
for their final home game.
The Oystermen went down 1-0 at home to Burgess Hill, who started
the day bottom of Ryman League Division 1 South, in one of the
poorest games of the season at the Belmont.
Town now face a trip to Whyteleafe – who replaced Burgess Hill
at the foot of the table – on Saturday, knowing that for a second
straight week their opponents will be looking to win to secure
their survival.
Luchford said: "We had talked at length with the players about
not letting the season peter out but it looked like we were doing
the exact opposite on Saturday."
Marc Cumberbatch and Gary Sayer should return in Surrey after
missing the Burgess Hill game but Dane Luchford misses out after
fracturing bones in both feet against Faversham two weeks ago.
Justin Luchford said: "Hopefully we can avoid that happening
again this weekend, but we’ll have to wait and see.
"We’ll have a look at who we’ve got and how they do in training
and maybe we’ll change it up a bit.
"We don’t want to finish on a sour note."
