New goalkeeper is Maidstone United's priority ahead of trip to Dulwich Hamlet

Maidstone could have some
fresh faces in their side when they travel to fellow Ryman League,
Division 1 South promotion hopefuls Dulwich this weekend.
A keeper is top of manager Jay
Saunders’ wish list, after Gillingham recalled loanee Daren Hawkes,
while he could also be in the market for a midfielder to bolster
the ranks.
On Wednesday night, the Stones lost
their League Cup quarter-final tie at East Thurrock 3-0. All three
goals came from set-plays.
Saunders (pictured) knows he
needs cover in goal following Hawkes’ departure. At present he only
has Marc Powell to call upon.
Second-placed Dulwich will pose the
Stones a stern test tomorrow (Saturday) but Saunders’ side were the
first team to beat Dulwich this season, after winning the reverse
fixture 2-0 in October.
Wednesday’s game was the first that
Maidstone had played in 18 days and Saunders, who left himself out
due to illness, included both Lewis Mingle and Sean Johnson, who
are on dual registration with Tunbridge Wells.
Both leading scorer Shaun Welford
(pictured) and Alex Flisher were rested and will return to the
squad this weekend.
