Canterbury Hockey Club closing in on Men's Conference East title

Canterbury men look to clinch the Men’s Conference East
title with a week to spare when they face Teddington at Polo Farm
on Saturday (6pm).
Three second-half goals in the space of seven minutes provided
the platform for Sunday’s 4-3 win at Oxted, and opened up a
four-point lead at the top after nearest rivals Old Loughtonians
drew 3-3 at third-placed Holcombe.
Farrer (pictured) said: "Oxted are battling for their spot in
the league, but something just seemed to click and we went onto
dominate the second-half.
"It’s a good position to be in, knowing we can win the title
this weekend, which means the pressure will be off and we can relax
ahead of the play-offs."
First-season skipper Farrer added: "I have really enjoyed
myself, but the role doesn’t faze me, I take everything as it
comes.
"I have got a great coach in Kwan Browne supporting me and a
good bunch of lads, and know that if we play to our potential we
will be successful.
"We all want to get the club back in the Premier Division, and
stay there."
