Faversham Town manager Ray Turner focused on Herne Bay derby clash which means more than most games
by Alex Hoad
Ray Turner admits that Saturday’s
Ryman League Division 1 South derby against Herne Bay ‘means more’
to his Faversham squad than most games.
The rival teams are separated by one
place and one point on the edge of the play-off positions but the
Town boss says that the links between the clubs make it an even
bigger game.
Luke Harvey, Darren Marsden, Jamie
Maxted, Dan Lawrence and Toby Ashmore are all former Bay players
and Turner (pictured) said: "There are a lot of local connections
and a lot of people on both sides know each other. The game
certainly means more to some than other games."
He added: "A few of the boys will be
excited but I’ll have a word before they go out, I’m sure."
Aaron Lacy and James Peacock return
from suspension for Town but substitute keeper Dan Ellis (back) is
out.

former Bay players can inspire a win against their old club? Have
