Richard Langley won't be applying manager's job at Whitstable Town

Uncertainty continues to hang over the Belmont as managerless Whitstable brace themselves for the clash with fellow strugglers Corinthian Casuals this weekend.

Caretaker bosses Richard Langley (pictured) and Nicky Southall are preparing to take charge of the Oystermen for a fourth time since the departure of former boss Justin Luchford.

Langley served as Jim Ward’s assistant at Ramsgate before working under Justin Luchford at Horsham and following the former Faversham boss to the Belmont. He was sacked by Dover Athletic six games into the 2004/05 season and insists that a return to management, eight years later, is not on his agenda.

He said: "It’s about what you want in life. If you look at my time as manager at Dover, it wasn’t a great time. You’ve also got to take into account the time factor. Can I give it the correct amount of time that it needs to fill that role properly?

"Nicky Southall is more suited to it and he wants to do it. I’m happy to work together but I probably won’t be applying for it. Maybe I couldn’t give it what it needs and Nicky has more spare time than me during the day."

New signings Gareth Cornhill and Sean Raggett should both play some part against Corinthian. However, Jake Beecroft (hamstring) is expected to miss out.
