Canterbury remain unbeaten at the top of the Investec Women’s
Hockey League Premier Division after holding title rivals Leicester
to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
Jade Mayne’s opener was cancelled out by a Katie Long strike for
the hosts, who are still a point behind Canterbury in second.
On Saturday, Mayne’s hat- trick fired them to a 5-2 win at
Slough, with Dom Masters and Sarah Kerly also on target.
In the Men’s Hockey League, Canterbury are still 10 points
adrift of leaders Beeston after they were beaten 3-2 at home by
Surbiton.
The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead inside 34 minutes courtesy of
James Tindall’s hat-trick.
Kwan Browne and skipper Michael Farrer scored to get Canterbury
back in the game but Surbiton held on for the win.
