Faversham Town manager Ray Turner aiming for wins in run of four home games in 10 days
by Alex Hoad
Faversham Town boss Ray Turner
is aiming to make Salters Lane a fortress over the coming fortnight
as he bids to secure his side’s play-off place in Ryman League,
Division 1 South.
Town won only one of their first seven home games but have
turned their fortunes around in recent weeks and Turner says
their form at Salters Lane is key to keeping them in the chase
for the top three.
Town host Corinthian Casuals on
Saturday and Burgess Hill on Tuesday with another two games in
three days to follow a week later.
Turner (pictured) said: "We’ve not
been too bad at home lately. We’ve won three of the last four and
we’ll be looking to do the same again in the four games we have in
the next 10 days.
"If we can win three then that
should maintain our position at the least and might even help us
close on that top-three."
Having won 2-1 at Walton Casuals on
Saturday, Town missed the chance to move up to third on Tuesday
with a controversial 1-0 defeat at Walton & Hersham.
Turner will face a selection
dilemma this week as midfielder Wayne Wilson will miss both games,
Luke Harvey has a knock, striker Kieran Oliver was limited to a
substitute’s role by illness on Tuesday and Darren Marsden begins a
suspension against Burgess Hill.
Turner has, however, been boosted
by the return to the club of player-coach Danny Hockton after a
short spell on the caretaker management team at Margate.
