Faversham Town manager Ray Turner wants winning home run to keep Lilywhites in contention
by Andrew Gidley
Ray Turner believes Faversham Town’s home form this month will
be vital to their hopes of staying among the chasing pack at the
top of the Ryman League, Division 1 South table.
Darren Marsden’s classy finish, a superb save by goalkeeper
Simon Overland, and another impressive display by teenager Kieran
Oliver were the inspiration behind the Lilywhites’ 3-2 win over
Hythe at the Shepherd Neame Stadium on New Year’s Day.
Turner's side are a points behind third-placed Hythe and
the Lilywhites boss said: "We have got four more games here in
January and it’s important we pick up points.
"If we do that and begin to match our good away form, we will be
in with a shout of staying where we want to be."
Defender Aiden Sherlock suffered a groin injury in the
warm-up that makes him doubtful for the visit of Folkestone Invicta
on Saturday.
Luke Harvey’s illness, together with the suspensions of James
Peacock and Dave Botterill, means that numbers will be stretched
but midfielder Wayne Wilson is due back.
Turner added: "Kieran has given me a nice problem because
although I have got senior players available, he is forcing his way
into the side."

Invicta? Have your say below.
