Video: Moment fake policemen tried to 'arrest' homeowner in Faversham

This is the terrifying moment three men pretending to be
police officers arrived to "arrest" a homeowner.
Two of the would-be abductors
were wearing what looked like police uniforms and another claimed
to be a plain-clothed officer when they targeted a man at a rural
house in Faversham.
CCTV footage shows the trio
being let into the house by the householder, a man in his
40s.
It is alleged the men then
claimed they were going to arrest the victim and another man in the
house.
But their attempt was scuppered
and they quickly fled.
The homeowner phoned Kent
Police, who confirmed the men were not officers from the
force.
The man wearing plain clothes is
said to be white, aged 30 to 35, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in,
average build with mousey shoulder-length hair.
One of the men wearing the
police uniform is said to be in his 30s, around 5ft 8in and slim
with dark cropped hair.
The third man in uniform is
described as white, in his 30s, around 6ft and with fair
hair.
DC Tom Wilson said: "Clearly
these are concerning incidents and I am keen to hear from anyone
who may be able to help identify the men from the CCTV
footage.
"If anyone has concerns in
relation to the identity of callers to their home I would urge them
to ask for identification, even if they are claiming to be from
Kent Police.
"No officer will mind you doing
this. If you have further concerns about the validity of the
identification, call the company or organisation the persons says
they are from.
"Do not let anyone into your
home unless you are confident they are who they say they
are."

of the trio arriving at the house in Faversham - before
fleeing when they failed to "arrest" the homeowner
The attempted "arrest" happened
at around 8.30pm on Saturday, October 13, but Kent Police have only
today released details and CCTV footage.
It came just a month after an
attempted burglary at the same house when a man brandished a large
knife.
Shockingly, the would-be raider
was spotted on CCTV waving the blade around while demanding to be
let into the property on Sunday, September 9 - before leaving when
he was not let inside.
The man is described as white,
5ft 9in and was wearing a dark woollen cap and a black fleece with
white stripes down the arm.
Witnesses or anyone with
information is asked to phone police on 01303 289535 or Kent
CrimeStoppers, anonymously, on 101.
