Swine flu alert at school

Two pupils at Ashford School are waiting for test results to find out whether they have got swine flu.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed a pupil at the school had tested positive for swine flu. The youngster was isolated as soon as the case was suspected and is now well.

It is not known which part of the school, which has sites in East Hill, Ashford, and in Great Chart, is affected.

A statement by head teacher Mike Buchanan (pictured) on the school's website says: "Having specifically requested information as to whether the school should close, we have been told that this is not necessary, but any pupils or staff showing symptoms should stay at home."
