From 'back end of a bus' to beauty...

Her ex said she looked like the "back end of a bus".

But now a former drug addict from Sevenoaks is enjoying a new lease of life as the result of a glamorous TV makeover.

Mel Bartropp, 27 (pictured left before the makeover), was given the transformation as part of Wedding TV’s ‘So Would You Dump Me Now?’.

It gives recently-dumped women a makeover and then presents them to their exes – who are asked if they regret their decision.

She was taken up to London with the show’s hosts, WAG Lizzie Cundy and makeup artist Sue Moxley, for a day of pampering in which she had her teeth, skin and hair revitalised by the best in the showbusiness world.

Afterwards she was whisked away to rub shoulders with celebrities at a lavish party.

But Lizzie and Sue didn’t just focus on boosting Mel’s outer beauty.Mel Bartropp after the makeover

As a recovering addict, one of her dreams has been to warn others of the pitfalls of drugs. Sue arranged for her to visit her local primary school to talk to children about her experiences.

The visit was such a success the head teacher has offered Mel (pictured right after the makeover) a full-time job at the school.

When the big day came to show Mel’s ex what he’s missing, things hit a snag - he's serving time in Pentonville prison!
