Canterbury's Lounge On The Farm scoops UK Festival Award for Best Line-Up

The team behind this summer's Lounge On The Farm music
festival are celebrating scooping a national award.
The three-day event at Merton
Farm in July was voted Best Line-Up at the UK
Festival Awards, held at London's IndigO2.
Promoter Matt Gough was overwhelmed
to pick up the title.
He said: "This is amazing
recognition for everyone involved and it's one for all the festival
team, and all the wonderful Kentish musicians who’ve chipped in to
make the festival so special."
This year's line-up boasted acts
including Roots Manuva, Edwyn Collins and The James Taylor Quartet
and saw record ticket sales.
The award was one of the few
categories on the night decided by industry insiders, who
judged the line-up ahead of other major summer festivals such as
Glastonbury, Bestival and T In The Park.
"It’s incredible to think that we
can pluck an award like this from under the noses of the bigger
events," added Matt (pictured right with co-organiser Sean
Baker).
"The amount of money we spend on
our whole line-up probably equates to less than the VAT bill for
one of the headliners playing at the bigger festivals across the
UK, and it always takes us over six months to get it together - but
this is a really positive sign that what we're doing here in Kent
is proving a force to be reckoned with."
