Youngsters to graffiti on wall in Maidstone

Youngsters in Maidstone will be putting their
creative talents to good use this half term.
Teenagers can use a new graffiti wall set up
near Bethersden Court in Senacre.
Many youth groups will meet for the project,
including those who were recently made to clear up unwanted
grafitti by local officers.
PCSO David Earl, one of the graffiti wall
organisers, said this was "the best way to get youngsters
to take pride in their community and use their talents for the
positive. "
"I hope this wall will serve as a beacon to
youngsters in the area, that their talents can be preserved without
causing a nuisance to residents or being detrimental to the
appearance of the local area."
The police worked in partnership with
Maidstone Housing Trust to set up the wall.
"The graffiti boards back onto a building site
so we thought that it was fitting the art send a clear message of
the risks associated with playing on such sites," says Steve McGlen
from the Trust.
"I look forward to seeing the finished
wall."
