Tributes to accident victim Michael Galt
A family
have paid tribute to a fanatical runner who died in a Boxing Day
crash.
Michael Galt was a "fun-loving" man, who was about to become a
grandfather for the sixth time.
The 59-year-old from Palm Crescent, Birchington, was struck by a Mini Cooper on the A28 Canterbury
Road while out for his daily run.
He leaves behind wife Hannah, sons Emrys and Paul and five
grandchildren. Paul's wife Sarah is pregnant with his sixth.
Emrys, 36, said: "He was a loving husband, father and
grandfather who was loved greatly and is terribly missed.
"He was the fun one and running was his passion. That is how
people will know him."
He was a talented sportsman and had completed a number of double
marathons.
Mr Galt's body was identified by his family yesterday, and a
postmortem is due to be held next week.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or who thinks they have
information for the inquiry should contact Kent Police's serious
collision investigation team on 01622 798538.
