Clever Trevor tops Kent charts with World Cup anthem

Never mind what happened between Mexico and South Africa, the
first winner of this World Cup is Trevor Osborne from
Ashford.
Trevor entered KM Group's competition, Kent's Song for England,
to find a song to drive our boys on to victory.
His effort, Go Win for England, was judged to be the best by
listeners of kmfm and readers of KM Group
papers.
It was named as one of the top 10 entries - from the 55 that
entered - and listeners could hear it online and
vote for it by text.
Asked whether he thought he'd win, Trevor said: "Not really, you
can never tell can you.
"I was very pleased with the way it turned out but you can never
assume because it would be arrogant and there were some very good
songs in the competition."
Proceeds from the competition will go to Demelza Hospice Care
for Children charity.
Singer and guitarist Trevor, 48, whose victory was
announced to 158,000 listeners across Kent by Rob Wills on kmfm
Drivetime, will now have his song professionally produced by
Independent Music Productions with any possible iTunes revenue also
going to benefit Demelza.
Sponsored by Kent Adult Education, the competition was launched
at the start of May and promoted across the county.
Runners up in the contest were Test Site MC from Whitstable,
with their song Fabio Capello Final and Paddy McEvoy from Romney
Marsh, with his song Sing for England.
