Funeral for Kent-based soldier

Sapper Guy Mellors, killed in action in AfghanistanA Kent-based soldier will be laid to rest in his hometown of Coventry today.

Sapper Guy Mellors was from 36 Engineer Regiment in Maidstone. 

The 20-year-old died on the February 15 clearing IED s in Afghanistan. 

He was repatriated to RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire last month, along with four other soldiers who lost their lives in the war torn country.

Residents in the nearby town of Wootten Bassett lined the streets to pay their respects as the soldiers' cortege passed through.
