Phone box plea by artist Shane Record

Shane Record's phone box art installation has been damaged by vandals

Phone box artist Shane Record has dialled for back-up in the war against vandals - in the shape of a group of school pupils.

The East Kent artist has enrolled a group of local children to help him stop people attacking his art.

Shane's work at Folkestone seafront involves a red phone box and a mannequin, but it has been plagued by vandals.

Wigs and costumes have been stolen and the box has been smashed.

Shane is getting school pupils to write messages asking people to leave the artwork alone - after he noticed Christmas decorations in the town put up by local schools had not been targeted.
