A 20-year-old man from Biggin Hill has narrowly missed out on
the opportunity to represent UK at the Eurovision Song
Contest.
Alexis Gerred gained second place at the UK
Eurovision live finals on Friday. He was one of six
acts competing for the opportunity to sing the UK
Eurovision entry.
Alexis's first song was 'Never Gonna Give You Up'
which Pete Waterman said was "brilliant".
After making it into the final three he sang his version
of 'That Sounds Good To Me', which has
been written by Mike Stock and Pete Waterman especially
for this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
However, it was just not meant to be and Alexis was beaten
by Josh Dubovie, 19, from
Essex.
The 20-yearold's manager, Louise Gubbay said: "I'm confident
this will be the start for him. He is also a talented actor
with a passion for both singing and acting."
Over the past few months, Alexis has had a lot of near
misses.
He has been in the final two for Disney and musical theatre
leads as well as an internet drama.
