A Medway woman who was to stand trial at the Old
Bailey for the murder of a pensioner, is no longer accused of the
crime.
Kim Albone, 39, of Luton Road, Chatham, was charged by Medway
Police with the murder of 66-year-old, Antoine Denis.
Mr Denis, pictured, was found dead in his flat at Copperfield
House, in New Road, Chatham, after suffering a single stab
wound.
His body was found on Saturday, January 9.
Ms Albone was due stand trial at the London Court, on July 26
this year, but police in Medway say she has now been released from
prison.
Officers investigating the murder say they are following a
number of lines of enquiry but are still asking for the public’s
help.
The decision to release Ms Albone was made between the police
and the Crown Prosecturion Service.
Police have released a new picture of Mr Denis.
It was taken in a shop in Church Street, Chatham at about 8.50am
on Sunday, December 27, last year.
DCI Dave Chewter, said: “Kent Police’s major crime unit are
continuing to appeal for anyone who may have seen Mr Denis before
or after December 27.
“We are following a number of lines of enquiry for our
investigation but are still keen for the public to help.”
