Coach crashes onto roundabout in Wainscott

This Kings Ferry coach ended up on the roundabout

The coach in the middle of the Four Elms roundabout

The driver of this coach was taken to hospital after crashing ONTO a roundabout.

The vehicle ended up in the middle of the Four Elms roundabout, in Wainscott, this morning.

It is believed the Kings Ferry coach had been travelling from the along the A289 when the accident happened on its way back to Gillingham after taking commuters to work in London.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, at about 10am, and no passengers were on board.

The driver is not thought to have suffered serious injury, but the front of the coach was badly damaged.

Danny Elford, Kings Ferry commercial director, said: "The coach had no passengers on it at the time and our driver is not seriously hurt.

"He has been taken to hospital for further assessment; his welfare is the important thing. The coach took a hard knock."
