Don't put porn mags in our bins!

The porn mags were discovered in these bins

The porn mags were discovered in these bins

by Alex Claridge

Porn mags thrown away in recycling bins next to a village hall ended up strewn around the area.

The parish council in Eastling, near Faversham, is urging people not to dispose of adult material in the bins after a passing villager was offended by seeing dumped magazines.

It is not known if someone rifling through the bins pulled the magazines out and deliberately scattered them near the hall or if the bins became full and were lifted open by the wind, causing the magazines to be blown around.

Jill Seaman, the parish clerk for Eastling Parish Council, said she is aware adult publications turned up in the recycling bins last month.

She said: "But we don't necessarily know whether someone has been throwing the magazines about or if the wind has blown them around.

"We know that the bins can get very full and then the lids can get blown open.

"This issue was brought up at a meeting of the parish council and let's face it this probably isn't the place where you would want to dispose of adult magazines.

"I think people should dispose of them more carefully if they have them as we wouldn't want children finding them. Someone who saw them has been offended by the sight."

What do you think? Join the debate by adding your comments belowThe village hall is paid a tonnage rate for paper and card waste, which is left in the bins and collected.

However, it remains a mystery as to how the pornography ended up in the bins.

Mrs Seaman added: "It is a mystery as to how it got there and who's been looking at this stuff, it could have been anyone and doesn't necessarily have to be someone in the village - it could have been just driving past who put them in there."

If the bins are getting full and overflowing either have a bigger skip (the type that are made for waste paper) or empty the bins more often. It is not illegal to read porn magazines. As for the name Seaman we have a gardener his name and this is true, his name is William Barrow (Will Barrow).

Perhaps a local music lover was disposing of some unwanted jazz mags?

lol Jill Seaman. you couldn't make it up.

Out of intrest where else apart from the bins are people ment to dump their collection when they have finished with it. Give it to a charity shop? I am sure the testicular cancer shop "Balls Out" would take them.
(I made the last bit up)

Whilst iit is causing a problem locally, a lot of the paper recycled is shipped to Thailand. They will reject the whole lorry load if they find indecent images at the port.
