Snow doesn't deter traffic warden in Folkestone

4x4 is given a parking ticket during heavy snow in Folkestone

It's nice to see a man with enthusiasm for his job.

Snowy weather didn’t deter this traffic warden from slapping a ticket on a car in The Tram Road, Folkestone yesterday.

The area was under several inches of snow - conditions that can make cars unmovable and often left abandoned until the thaw.

Perhaps the eagle-eyed officer figured this red Range Rover was a 4x4 - one of the few vehicles that can move in snow.

I have no problem with tickets being issued when a vehicle is clearly parked badly or in an unconsiderate manner but most of the time these little tw-ts that work for the council are nothing more than revenue collectors. If only such effort was put in to real problems like spitting, litter, anto social behaviour etc but of course that is not so easy for greedy councils to raise cash. These modern day highwaymen are a scourge of society most of the time and unlike their sensible counterparts when the wardens were operated by the police (yellow banded uniforms)who used common sense.I would love to see a week when the whole UK parked "legally" a 100% of the time and we would soon see what the real reason these morons are allowed to operate. Most tickets are issued for a few minutes over in pay and display areas which the council love so much over the once common pay on exit idea, I wonder why???

Trafic wardens were needed to control parking spaces, but i find it hard to believe that parking spaces are at a premium in this weather.
It makes me sick to my stomach to see people get this low,to issue a summons or even condone it.

Good on him! Clearly this car hasn't been abandoned otherwise it'd be covered in snow, as it isn't you can assume that it's managed to drive down to Tram Road fine, and if the roads are so bad, then how did the little SDC van get around?! It's good to see that this chap was out in the snow still doing the job that we pay him to do. Well done him.
