Farm shop challenge as chocolate-covered sprouts sold in Broadditch
Comments |

Two north Kent farmers have taken a step out of chef Heston
Blumenthal's book by creating their very
own delicacy - chocolate -overed sprouts!
Brothers John (centre) and Mark Harris, owners of
Broadditch Farm in Southfleet, have teamed up with a bakery in New
Ash Green to launch the unusual treat dubbed 'Chocolate
Trussels.'
They had the idea after Mark's six-year-old son Charlie began
pushing his Brussels sprouts around his plate at his
Christmas dinner.
After discussing ways of encouraging children to eat the
vegetable with their local bakery, the idea was born.
A selection of Trussel flavours including white and milk
chocolate as well as caramel fudge will be available from the farm
shop on Saturday, February 4.
John said: "Personally I think they are great but I would say
that. I think as you get older you get more accustomed to
sprouts.
"Hopefully people will try one just to say they have done it.
Its's just a bit of a fun, maybe even a few loved ones could be
getting them for Valentines.
