A man being questioned after two bodies were found in a
Canterbury pond has been released by police as tributes
are paid to the two drowned men.
The 28-year-old, from Canterbury, was arrested on suspicion of
supplying controlled drugs on Tuesday night.
He has now been released on police bail until March 15, pending
further inquiries.
It comes after post mortems revealed 17-year-old Hugo Wenn and
Daniel Lloyd, 25, died from drowning.
A 54-year-old man, from Canterbury, earlier arrested on
suspicion of murder was released without charge.
Police, who are still treating the deaths as unexplained, are
now awaiting further toxicology results.
A tribute released by the family of Hugo, from Derringstone
Hill, Barham, today said: "Hugo was a lovely boy who lived life to
the full. He enjoyed every waking moment and enriched all those
whose lives he touched.
"We feel privileged to have known him, albeit far too
fleetingly. He will be sadly missed by many and will never be
forgotten. May you rest in peace our darling Hugo."
A tribute from the family of Daniel Lloyd, from Wincheap,
Canterbury, said: "We are obviously devastated by Daniel's death.
He was a much loved son, brother, father, grandson, nephew and
cousin.
"Daniel was a larger than life character who will leave a
massive hole in our lives. His talent helped to reveal a unique and
beautiful soul and we will miss him dearly. During our time of loss
we ask to have the space to grieve and take stock of the huge hole
that he leaves in our lives."

Daniel Lloyd, left, and
Hugo Wenn were both found dead in a pond
The body of Hugo, who had been missing
since Friday night, was discovered in Reed Pond, Canterbury, at
midday on Monday.
Daniel – a well-known busker in
Canterbury nicknamed Taihg – was reported missing at the same time
a man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police divers were called in and
pulled his body from the pond at 9.40pm the same day.
Daniel’s sister Emma Lloyd posted on
his Facebook wall: "My family and I would like to thank you all for
your concern and love for my little brother - an amazing father,
son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to you all.

"I'm sorry to say he was found dead
yesterday. At this stage I'm unable to tell you anything else.
Please allow our family time. I love you so much. I can’t believe
you’re gone."
His mum Lisa Lloyd added: "Good bye my
beautiful boy. My heart is broken. I love you."
Dozens of floral tributes have been left to the victims in
Canterbury city centre.
Bunches of flowers and pictures of Hugo adorn the war memorial
in the Buttermarket. And tributes, candles and chalked messages to
Daniel have been left outside Lloyds Bank in the High Street.

Hugo, a former Archbishop's School
pupil, from Barham, was last seen on Friday night when he was due
to meet friends at the city's Blind Dog pub in Rosemary Lane.
The popular beat-boxer arrived at the
pub, but then sent pals a text message saying he was leaving.
He was later seen walking along the
High Street at 8.30pm and talking to two buskers – one believed to
be Daniel.
Hugo's brother Oscar Wenn posted on
his Facebook wall on Sunday: "Hugo, mum and dad want to know where
you are. Xx."
A Facebook
group pleading for information about his whereabouts was set up by
family friend Cordelia Edwards, attracting thousands of
well-wishers.
It has now been taken down and
replaced with a group called R.I.P Hugo Wenn, which has more
than 6,500 followers and been flooded with tributes.
The teenager was a pupil at the
Archbishop's School in Canterbury, leaving last year after
completing his GCSEs.
Head teacher Michael Liddicoat said:
"It came as a massive shock to all of us. It's affected the school
quite badly and prayers will be said for him and his family.
"Hugo was a real character around the
school. I remember watching him play rugby and his GCSE drama
performance, which got him an A. It was outstanding.
"He was a gentle giant in many ways
and will be greatly missed by the staff and students."

The pond where the bodies
were found
The Kent and Essex Serious Crime
Directorate major crime team has set up an incident room.
Ch Insp Steve Barlow, the District
Commander for Canterbury, said: "It's shocking and unusual for
something like this to happen here in Canterbury.
"It is extremely unusual to find two
bodies in these circumstances, which is why we are keen to
investigate fully.
"At this stage we would say to the
people of Canterbury there is no reason to expect there is an
ongoing danger or threat to them."
Police officers searching
the site
Detectives are continuing to appeal
for witnesses, especially anyone who was in the vicinity of Reed
Pond between 5pm on Friday and 11am on Monday.
Reed Pond is on Ministry of Defence land known as
The Old Park, popular with dogwalkers and fishermen. It is bordered
by Howe Barracks, Canterbury Golf Club and the Poets estate.
Army spokesman Bendict O'Connor said:
"It is extremely sad news that two bodies have been discovered on
the training area behind Howe Barracks in Canterbury.
"This piece of land is owned by
Defence Estates and while occasionally used by the Army is open to
the public.
"It is not thought that the deaths
were in any way connected with HM Armed Forces.
"A number of soldiers were involved in
helping with the ground search prior to the discovery of the bodies
but the matter is now entirely in the hands of the police. Our
thoughts are with the friends and families of the deceased."
Emergency crews raced to the scene,
close to Parkside Community Primary School in Tennyson Avenue, at
about midday yesterday.
