Four arrested after Strood petrol station robbery
Two men have been remanded in custody following a security van
robbery at a petrol station in Strood.
Michael Robert McCluskey, aged 25 of Brinkburn Close, Abbey
Wood, London, and a 17-year-old boy from Erith appeared at Dartford
magistrates court after being charged yesterday with conspiracy to
commit robbery.
It comes after George Brockett, aged 25 from Mangold Way,
Erith was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
All three, remanded in custody, will next appear at Maidstone Crown
Court on Monday 1 October 2012.
A 22-year-old woman from Gravesend, arrested on Monday, has been
bailed until next month, pending further enquiries.
Last Wednesday firearm officers swarmed the scene around 11.50am
following the raid, in which witnesses reported seeing a
weapon.
Officers seized a stolen car abandoned near the petrol station,
which is believed to have been used by the robbers.
The silver Volkswagen Golf had been driven on false number
plates with the registration DG 09 NLL after being taken from
London.
It is believed those involved left fled via the entrance to
Knight Road Business Park, or through a fence broken during the
raid at the back of the petrol station.
