Forget all the doom and gloom in the national press: there’s plenty of great news out there for Kent homeowners looking to sell – it just depends on choosing an estate agent with a positive approach.
That’s the confident, upbeat message contained in the latest eye-catching marketing campaign from the county’s leading agents, Ward & Partners – part of the Arun Estates Group.
Launched this week, the new From Green Shoots to Full Bloom Campaign draws on data from the Government’s Land Registry and the group’s own figures to highlight the extraordinary success Ward & Partners offices have been achieving on behalf of their clients throughout the county this year.
Right across the sales process, the figures speak for themselves: offers up 53 per cent on 2008; sales up 84 per cent; even sale prices – at a time when everyone else is talking about continuing falls – up six per cent since the start of the year.
Small wonder then that according to the Land Registry, Ward & Partners and the rest of the Arun Group between them have increased their market share by a massive 36 per cent.
Commenting on the campaign, Ward & Partners’ managing director David Lench said, “These figures prove that there’s plenty of life in the property market – indeed, we have been fantastically busy.
“In the first quarter of 2009, applicant registrations, viewing activity and numbers of offers were all way up on the last three months of 2008, and this great start to the year has accelerated still further during the second quarter.”
What’s more, he added, contrary to what many people still believe, there isn’t necessarily any shortage of funds.
“In the first three months of 2009, we successfully arranged 40 per cent more mortgages than in the last quarter of 2008.”
The message to homeowners wanting to sell is clear, says David.
“The buyers are out there again, in large numbers – in fact, our campaign also highlights the fact that as a group we currently have 10 times as many applicants on our books as properties. So, for anyone who has held back over the last year to 18 months, now is a great time to put their property on the market.”
All it takes for success, David added, is choosing the right estate agent.
“You need a firm where the staff don’t just sit on their hands, but have a reputation for going out there and really working hard to make sales happen.”
