Greyfox brings in specialists to deal with Thames Gateway boom
Comments |

High demand for homes to let within Medway’s Thames Gateway has
spurred Greyfox Estate Agents to create a dedicated lettings
negotiator at each of its branches.
Steve O’Neill, managing director at Greyfox, said: "There are
several factors contributing to the demand we are experiencing at
the moment. Regeneration within Thames Gateway continues to attract
people to the area.
"Recently, one company called requiring 600 units to accommodate
personnel involved with the power station refurbishment on the Isle
of Grain.
"The growth of universities and colleges in Medway is also
adding to the need for quality lets.
"The specialist lettings negotiators will continue to be
supported by our specialist lettings administration team based in
the Chatham branch."
This might all sound like good news for the local property
market, but Mr O’Neill is concerned there is not enough stock
coming on to the market to meet demand.
"Anyone thinking of letting their property should seriously
consider going ahead now while interest is high," he said, warning:
"Those thinking of letting should make sure the service, management
and maintenance of their property is of good quality.
"There have been a number of horror stories in the press about
untrustworthy agents and appalling maintenance.
"Only go with an agent you can trust and which has a credible
service agreement.
"For example, our lettings are maintained by approved members of
the Medway Fair Trader scheme, which is operated by Medway Trading
standards."
