Motorcyclist has serious leg injuries

Police accidentA motorcyclist who was found laying in the middle of a busy road in Medway, has suffered serious leg injuries.

The rider, who has not been named, came off his machine as he was riding up Frinsbury Hill, in Strood, close to the English Martyrs School at about 6.55am today (Monday).

Police and paramedics attended and a section of the road was closed to allow medics to deal with the injured man.

There was a minor oil spill from the collision.

It is not clear if his machine was in collision with another vehicle, but officers say they spoke to two other motorists who had stopped at the scene.

A spokesman for Medway Police said: "We were advised by the ambulance service that the man’s injuries were quite serious.

"It is not clear at this stage how he came to be laying in the road and officers were speaking to other motorists to see if they saw anything."

The road was reopened at 7.55am.
