Carter: we need 'bonfire of bureaucracy'
Comments |
A "bonfire of bureaucracy" was called for by Kent
County Council leader Paul Carter at the Kent 2020 business
conference and exhibition today.
Cllr Carter said two things needed to happen to help Kent climb
from recession.
Banks needed to be more co-operative and supportive with
business to help the economy thrive.
And he called for an end to the "compliance and regulation"
industry which created extra work and cost for business saying: "We
must have a bonfire of bureaucracy."
Cllr Carter said that facing up to the financial cutbacks any
new Government would impose was an enormous challenge but KCC would
go on fighting to get the best share of the cake it could for the
county.
