Capstone Country Park was awash with pink on Sunday as thousands of women, including some in fancy dress, took part in a charity fun run.
The park was the location for this year’s Medway Race for Life, organised by Cancer Research UK.
More than 2,000 women ran, jogged or walked the 5km route to help fund the charity’s vital research into the disease.
The race was started by the deputy Mayor of Medway Cllr Ted Baker, who also took part in the warm-up.
The course at Capstone took in scenic countryside and had many twists and turns through orchards, ancient woodlands and wildflower meadows.
The Race for Life is the biggest women-only fund-raising event in the UK.
Since it started in 1994 more than £90 million has been raised nationally, and it is hoped the race at Capstone will raise another £161,000.
