Charlton captain Mark Hudson transfers to Cardiff

Charlton have sold captain Mark Hudson to Cardiff in a
seven-figure deal.
Cardiff have paid £1.075m up front for the central
defender with a further £250,000 to follow if the
Bluebirds are promoted to the Premier League.
The deal for the player, who was signed by the Addicks on a
free transfer 12 months earlier from rivals Crystal Palace,
includes a sell-on clause.
Charlton boss Phil Parkinson said: "We wish Mark all the
best. We've got to move on now and work hard to bring in a
replacement."
Hudson (pictured) told the Cardiff website he was excited
and pleased to complete the move.
"I met the manager and the chairman and they showed me around
the new stadium and the training ground and it looked superb," said
Hudson.
"I'm looking forward to linking up with the lads now and getting
started. Cardiff went pretty close last year and hopefully this
time around we can take that one step extra."
Hudson is the seventh player to leave The Valley this
summer, following Harry Arter, Darren Ambrose, Svetoslav Todorov,
Nicky Weaver, Aswad Thomas and Rashid Yussuff.
