Reliable midfielder Mark Bentley
admitted he had mixed emotions after being an unused substitute at
Wembley.
The 31-year-old, who has also operated
at centre-back this season, was delighted to win promotion but
disappointed not to get on during the play-off final victory.
"There’s a bit of me that has mixed
emotions having been part of it for so long and then to miss out at
the final hurdle," he admitted.
"It’s a team effort and I’ve been a
major part of it throughout the season. I’ve got to look at it like
that.
"I know that I’ve contributed and I’m
pleased that we’re in League 1. We can look forward to going to
Norwich, Charlton and Leeds, which is fantastic, even though we got
relegated there.
"If the gaffer keeps the side together
and adds a bit of quality then there’s no reason why we shouldn’t
do well."
