Jacob Erskine returns to Gillingham after loan spell at Bromley comes to an end

Striker Jacob Erskine has returned to Gillingham after Bromley declined to extend his loan spell.

The 20-year-old (pictured) was set to stay with the Blue Square South side for a second month but Gills boss Mark Stimson has revealed that the player is now heading back.

Stimson said: "Jacob Erskine is coming back because of financial reasons at Bromley."

Erskine made a surprise move to Gillingham from Bromley in early August after impressing Stimson in a pre-season friendly between the two sides. He has made six appearances for the Gills.

Erskine's return could signal a move out of the club on loan for striker Andy Pugh, who is being monitored by a local Blue Square South side.
