Danny Spiller confident Gillingham can turn round disappointing start
Comments |
Danny Spiller believes that Gillingham’s disappointing start to
the season could benefit them in the long term.
The Gills went into the season as League 2 promotion favourites
but are one of eight teams still looking for their first win after
the opening three games.

Spiller, who made a move back to Priestfield in the summer, is
confident that their early blip will soon be forgotten.
He said: "It’s not totally a bad thing that this has happened.
It’s been a shock to our system to have had no wins but it means we
can iron out the creases early doors and get to the bottom of a few
bits and pieces.
"We’ve looked at the videos and worked on the training ground
and I’m sure the gaffer has got things sorted and will make
adjustments.
"We’re just looking forward to Morecambe and there is no better
place to start.
"We’ve got a great squad with ability and a great work ethic and
we’ve been unlucky not to have earned a few more points. I’m sure
that will all change on Saturday."
Spiller (pictured above) thrives on a physical midfield contest
and is looking forward to the challenge that Morecambe will
pose.
He said: "Morecambe will be a strong outfit and we need to make
sure we’re ready for the battle. We need to make sure we win that
before we can start zipping the ball around."
