Tranmere game is 'absolutely huge' says manager Mark Stimson

Mark Stimson has hailed the
League 1 clash against fellow strugglers Tranmere at Priestfield
on Tuesday as "absolutely huge."
Only a second-half equaliser for
Leyton Orient against Brighton stopped the Gills slipping into the
bottom four on Saturday, while Oldham – 1-0 winners at Prenton Park
– were the only side in the bottom six to claim maximum points.
Stimson said: "We are going into the
game off a bad defeat, I will analyse what happened at Brentford
with the rest of the coaching staff, and will pick a team who we
think will get us a result.
"There might be a couple of changes
possibly because I didn’t think one or two did themselves
justice.
"If they aren’t big enough to hold
their hand up and say ‘I am not on the button’, then I will make
that decision, because we have got to win."
Stimson suffered a double blow on
Friday when Rene Howe and Tristan Plummer were injured in training,
continuing a jinx on loan players this season.
Stimson said: "Rene’s injury was
bizarre, he went to have a shot, and somebody ran into him, hitting
him around the hip area.
"It’s like a dead leg, but he went
down straightaway and did well to get off the pitch. If you saw him
then you would say he had no chance of being fit for Tuesday."
