Kent spinner James Tredwell called up for England tour to Bangladesh

Kent spinner James Tredwell is in line to win his first England
cap after being selected for the tour to Bangladesh on Monday
morning.
Tredwell, 27, has been part of the England squad for the tour to
South Africa but with two spinners likely to play in the Tests
against Bangladesh, he will be hoping to get the nod.
Tredwell said: “I’m delighted to be going to Bangladesh with
England. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to South Africa but going to
Bangladesh may give me be a better chance of getting a game because
conditions might suit playing two spinners. We have a strong squad
and I’m very much looking forward to my first tour to
Bangladesh.”
It will be a busy time for Tredwell, pictured, who is also
named in the one-day squad for the tour to United Arab Emirates and
Bangladesh.
Kent team-mate Joe Denly, who was overlooked as a Test opener
with former Kent bat Michael Carberry gaining selection, is named
in the one-day party.
Denly said: “I’m delighted to be back in the England squad. I’m
really pleased with being selected and cannot wait to get back out
there with my international team-mates. It will be good to have
James (Tredwell) out there and I’m sure the tour will go well for
both me and England.”
England play three one-day internationals between February 28
and March 5 in Bangladesh and two Tests, in Mirpur
from March 12 and Chittagong from March 20.
National selector Geoff Miller said: "James Tredwell and Michael
Carberry have continued to impress the selectors over the course of
the winter and we expect both players to make a strong challenge
for inclusion in our starting line-up on the forthcoming tour."
