Jamie Day wants to bring a new forward to Welling United

Signing a new striker remains a priority for Welling
player/manager Jamie Day.
The Wings have used Lee Clarke as a striker partner for Tom
Whitnell since Andy Pugh's three-month loan from Gillingham
ended.
Whitnell has looked a shadow of his former self since Pugh's
exit and Day is keen to bring in a fresh face and return Clarke to
his midfield role.
"We need to get someone in," said Day. "While Clarkey did well
against Weymouth and scored two goals, I quite like him in midfield
and if we can bring a forward in then that's what we need to
do."
Day also refused to rule out a further move for Pugh, who is
halfway through a loan spell at Histon, although he is keen to
bring someone in sooner rather than later.
Lamine Sagna has been used as a substitute in the last two
matches but he failed to impress after coming on for the last
half-hour at Weymouth last weekend.
